Cutting & Painting With Rubber Stamps on Fabric
Welcome back to my blog! After a very long hiatus I have decided to dedicate bi-weekly entries here to answering some of the many questions that we are asked on our website.
This first group of 7 entries, all dated 2/5/08, is about designing and cutting rubber stamps used for painting on fabric.
To cut rubber stamps you will need a linoleum cutter shown above and at least the following blades; #1-a narrow "V", #2-a wider "V", #4-a wide flat bottomed "U" shape, #5 a large half circle scoop and a #6- a knife blade. You will also need cutting material. My favorite is "Speedy Cut" by Speedball. I buy it in the largest size available, 6 5/8" x 11 1/4" blocks. I cut the block down into one large square and several smaller sections. You can use your rotary cutter for this purpose.
